Getting Started as a Mystery Shopper
Mystery Shopping is an easy way to make a few extra dollars and even earn a free meal now and then. Don’t expect to get rich from Mystery Shopping. The pay is very low but you typically get the service or product free in exchange for doing the shop. Here are just a few of the Mystery Shops that I have done in the past.
- Restaurants
- Pizza Delivery
- Banks
- Movie Theaters (FREE movie tickets)
- Fast Food Restaurants
- Oil Changes
- Car Washes
- Valet Parking
- Retail Stores
An important thing to remember is not to pay for Mystery Shopping lists. There are all kinds of companies out there charging for a list of companies. There is no reason to pay for this service. Here are a few tips that I have for Mystery Shopping.
- Roboform – This will be your best friend. It is a free service and will fill in your information with a click of a button. I could not LIVE without Roboform.
- Set up an email address specifically for Mystery Shopping. You will quite a few emails from companies and they will clutter up your inbox.
- You do not have to be certified to Mystery Shop. PLEASE do not pay to become certified unless you decide this is something you want to do full time.
- Make sure to check your email account frequently. The best shops go fast and typically the first person to respond gets the job.
